Winter Swimming

Winter Swimming will commence on Sunday 7 April, the Sunday after Easter. Races start at 10.30 am. Each week we have Freestyle, one Form stroke and a two person relay. Please register online for the Freestyle and the Form Stroke. Make up a team of two at the pool for the relay. Closest to time wins. Winter swimming is very casual and no lane ropes are used. The water does not start to get cold until the end of May. So why not join us. You might get used to the colder water and keep going for the remainder of winter. There is a trophy for the most points scored during the Winter season.

Club Championships

In order to qualify for Championship Selection, you must swim over 5 separate weeks no later than 7 January 2024. For Age and Senior Championships, you also need to swim in that stroke once this season. Although championship distances are set for each age group and event, you do not have to swim that distance to be selected. Open and Junior Championship are over 100m except for Butterfly which will be over 50m. Those qualifying for Open and Junior Championship selection must have swum at least once at this distance to be selected. Please see the Information for Members booklet for full rules. Our first Championship is on Wednesday 31 January 2024. Age and Senior Championships are scheduled for Saturdays 3 February 2024 and 17 February 2024.

Summer Swimming

Our Summer Swimming season has finished, and the new season will commence in October. Races are for all ages and standards, adults and children. Races start at 10.00am. Each week we have Freestyle and two other events plus Vets events for those aged 30 and over.

WASA Carnivals

WASA holds several carnivals during the season – mostly for Junior Swimmers. Membership includes capitation to WASA. The events are usually held at the Warringah Aquatic Centre. There is a small fee for each event and competitors and spectators will need to pay to enter the Centre. Mary Houten is the co-ordinator for these carnivals and can be contacted at collaroyswim@gmail.com. The WASA link is at the bottom of this page.

Being financial

Swimmers/families must pay their membership within 2 weeks of commencing swimming.
Swimming points will be awarded and eligibility for championship swims will be accrued from day 1 with 2 ‘grace’ weeks. Should fees not be paid within the first 2 weeks of swimming, swimming points will not be allocated, and eligibility for championships will not accrue until the date of payment. Swimmers/families do not have to return on the first day of swimming season. The rule applies from the first day of your return to swimming.
